Papers of the Head, Lean, and other related families, including letters, documents, clippings, and scrapbooks (1892-98, 1901-07). Family members most heavily represented include William C.B. Head, a dentist in Franklin, La. and other locations who settled in Germantown, Pa. following the Civil War; his wife Elizabeth Lean Fields Head, founder of Mrs. Head's School in Germantown; their son Lean F. Head, who practiced dentistry in France and Spain; their daughter Harriet F. Head; son Francis Head; son Joseph Head; and the latter's wife Annie Lyndesay Wilkinson Head. The majority of the letters are to and from the family at Franklin, La. and particularly in Germantown. (Cont'd) The collection also includes an extensive family genealogy complete with copies of photographs, letters, and documents, entitled, "The Head Family History" compiled by Anne Fetter Sandy. Sandy's research materials including notes and oral histories are also included.
